TR is a treatment strategy used to improve the balance, coordination, focus, independence, confidence, motor and social skills of children and adults with a wide range of physical or mental conditions.
CAN-TR Programs
CAN-TR is the only equine-assisted riding program in Chatham County with NARHA-certified instructors and Physical Therapy that offers hippotherapy, therapeutic riding and mentoring to children and adults with special needs, in an inclusive setting when possible.
Clients that benefit from our services may have medical conditions that include Cerebral Palsy, Cerebral Vascular Accident (stroke), Down Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury, Learning or Language Disabilities and Developmental Delay.
Hippotherapy
Hippotherapy (HPOT) is a form of physical, occupational and speech therapy in which a therapist uses the characteristic movements of a horse to provide carefully graded sensory input to achieve functional outcomes.
